El Ministerio de Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones otorgó el permiso de funcionamiento a la compañía de Internet satelital Starlink, empresa que es propiedad del magnate Elon Musk. De acuerdo con MinTIC, con esa tecnología buscan llevar conectividad a todo el país, especialmente a zonas de difícil acceso y eventualmente fortalecer la implementación el 5G en el país.

“En nuestra ruta por cerrar la brecha digital desde todos los puntos de vista, la entrada de esta nueva compañía al país significará una mejora sustancial en la forma en que se conectarán las regiones, pues gracias a la tecnología satelital de actores como Starlink se ampliará la oferta en el mercado, y gracias a los beneficios establecidos en el nuevo régimen, el dinero que deja de percibir el MinTIC en materia de pagos por uso de espectro podrán ser reinvertidos para mejora del servicio al usuario final”, dijo la ministra TIC, Carmen Ligia Valderrama Rojas.

Así mismo, recordaron que el nuevo régimen contribuye a un mayor desarrollo de la conectividad en todo el territorio nacional y a un aumento en la inversión.

MinTIC lanzó Manual Interactivo para avanzar en la transformación digital pública.

La ministra TIC, Carmen Ligia Valderrama Rojas, explicó que el manual reúne, en un solo sitio, el material que necesitan las entidades para implementar la Política de Gobierno Digital, facilitando el despliegue de las nuevas tecnologías de la revolución industrial, la transferencia de conocimiento, la evolución del Internet de las cosas, Blockchain, Inteligencia Artificial y el Big Data.

Así mismo, presentó el marco normativo que habilita la transformación digital pública e hizo énfasis en la importancia de consolidar un Gobierno Digital, tema prioritario para el Ministerio TIC, por tratarse de un proyecto país.
